Here at Lifestiles, we are dedicated to providing high quality clay roof tiles that undergo rigorous and independent testing to ensure their resilience in response to the ever-changing and demanding weather conditions here in the UK. Three of our roof tiles – the Woburn, Ashbury, and Ashvale – have again passed a number of demanding tests conducted by the accredited UK company, Lucideon.
The Importance of Frost Resistance
Frost resistance is a critical attribute for any roofing material, particularly in a country as prone to unpredictable weather as the UK. The ability to withstand freezing temperatures and icy conditions is a hallmark of durability and long-lasting performance. We have paid special attention to this vital quality, ensuring that our roof tiles don’t just meet industry standards but set new benchmarks which keep your home protected for years to come.
Tests and Outcomes
The independent tests conducted at Lucideon, a respected authority in material testing, encompassed three key parameters:
- Flexural Strength: This measure evaluates the tile’s resistance to bending or breaking, a crucial factor in withstanding various loads and environmental conditions.
- Impermeability: Ensuring the tiles are impermeable to moisture and water infiltration is essential to guarantee the structural integrity of the whole roofing system.
- Frost Resistance: The frost resistance test gauges the tile’s ability to endure the harsh freezing conditions that can cause serious issues on lesser-quality roofing materials.
In each of these critical tests, our Woburn, Ashbury, and Ashvale clay roof tiles not only met the required standards but surpassed them. They emerged unscathed, showcasing robust flexural strength, impeccable impermeability, and, most notably, unwavering frost resistance.
