AFC Sudbury’s Men’s First Team has achieved a remarkable feat by winning the coveted Isthmian League Respect Title, in addition to their promotion from the Isthmian League at the end of last season. This prestigious league comprises 82 teams from across the UK, all competing in the Isthmian League.
Club Chair Andrew Long expressed his delight at receiving this award, saying, “In what can be a tough, uncompromising, and sometimes unpleasant sport, AFC Sudbury is proud to be a progressive club that prioritises respect, dignity, and fairness for all. Our vision is to make Sudbury a great place to live, work, and thrive, and we have worked diligently to instil our CORE Values of Commitment, Ownership, Respect, and Excellence throughout the club. It’s wonderful to see our Men’s First Team leading by example, showcasing these values, and inspiring our younger players to follow suit.”
The Isthmian League Respect Title is based on various factors, including disciplinary points and dissent cautions issued to players and the coaching staff. AFC Sudbury’s Men’s First Team received a significant number of “excellent” gradings from match officials, highlighting their exceptional behaviour and respect on and off the pitch.
Chris Ruggles, Operations Director of Lifestiles who sponsor the Men’s first team, expressed his immense pride in the team’s achievement, stating, “We are immensely proud of AFC Sudbury’s Men’s First Team for being crowned the winners of the Isthmian League Respect Title. This accomplishment showcases their exceptional commitment to respect and fair play. It is a testament to their dedication and the values they represent both on and off the pitch. This whole ethos is evident within the club throughout all levels, and something we aim to mirror within our own organisation at Lifestiles. Being associated with the club means a lot to us and we look forward to more success going forward”
AFC Sudbury’s Men’s First Team’s triumph in the Isthmian League Respect Title not only reflects their commitment to fair play but also showcases the positive and inclusive environment fostered by the club.
Well done!
